About
I'm Skylar Strudwick and this is my personal website. I'm doing my BA in Psychology and BA in Sociology of Law at the University of Minnesota with a concentration in Human Rights.
If you want to say hi, you can reach me via my email.
On this website you can find just about everything I want on the internet ranging from my resume to my thoughts on albums or books.
Doings
I'm currently working for the University of California San Diego as a research assistant on a project related to public policy. I am also a Jewish Education Intern at Minnesota Hillel.
As a second semester senior at the UMN, I am involved in the University of Minnesota Human Rights Program Undergraduate Working Group and a writer for their org Human Writes. I also volunteer with Amnesty International writing letters for various human rights causes.
Outside of structured work at the university, I am somewhat of a serial project starter. One of them is Divided Dialogues, a pluralism project I started after seeing the divides on campus during a variety of protests in 2024. Divided Dialogues is both a blog and a podcast.
Along with Divided Dialogues I also started The Policy and Rights Lab to turn the narratives I've been using in Divided Dialogues into research and policy initiatives. Policy Rights Lab is in its founding stages now, so if you're reading this and have an interest in policy (human rights, animal welfare, politics, etc.) then please check out the site and submit something!
Notes
I love writing. In tandem I love learning. The dual product of these is lots of notes from research, both relevant to my career and just for my own enjoyment. I have a section in the Writing tab of all of my written works, including notes I've taken, blogs, research, essays, reviews, and anything else I decide to write on.
Friends
I'm continually impressed with my friends and encourage you to check out their work!
My partner, Joseph Shetaye, does amazing work at Stanford on systems and various cs creative works.
Joey Stedman is a talented artist in the Twin Cities and her work is astounding (and I don't just say this because my face is the front cover of her website).
Ihlara Williamson is my childhood friend from Portland, OR, and a great mathematician.
Amara Moss is an artist and cancer researcher and great company at late night coffee shops.
Noah Raaum has no digital presence at the moment, but is also deeply impressive.
Pictures
I have three cameras on rotation. My iPhone 15, a Kodak fz55, and a Sony d1000. I am not very active on Instagram and post photos on here more.
You can find all the photos I want shared on the internet on the Photos tab in this website.
